In the spirit of the season, marked with love, joy, and happiness. The Member Representing Ikono State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Asuquo Nana-MBK has commended Governor Umo Eno for his transparent leadership, which he said has contributed to fighting the hardship faced by Akwa-Ibom people.

The Assembly man gave the commendation Saturday, December 28th, at the Local Government Headquarters Ibiaku Ntok Okpo, Ikono, during the distribution of rice to villages by the Chairman of the Council Rt. Hon. Oto-Obong Essien.

Nana, who chairs the House Committee on Rural Development, Power, Water, and Public Utilities, informed that Governor Umo Eno has made significant progress in improving the lives of Akwa-Ibom people, hence his reason of coming to identified with the people with additional bags of rice to complement the governor’s efforts in his various empowerment programs to celebrate the new year, adding that he will continue to support his efforts in actualising his A. R. I. S. E. Agenda.

He thanked Stakeholders, the PDP family, bigwigs, and Village heads for their corporation and peaceful conduct in the sharing process, highlighted that the largess is a mark of brotherhood and unity, a testament of governor Umo Eno’s intensional leadership.

According to him, “The rich are for Akwa-Ibom people, each village are entitled to 20 bags as directed by the governor. It is not for YPP or APC, but for Akwa Ibom people. The rice will be handed over to the village head, who will equally share it with families in a very peaceful manner.” Nana explained.

Other stakeholders who expressed their appreciation to the governor through message of goodwill were the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Health, Prof Augustine Umoh, Executive Chairman, Rt. Hon. Oto-Obong Essien Councillors, PDP stakeholders, among others, all prayed for God’s continuous blessings.

In a related development, Nana stormed his village, Edem Edet Ikot Enie, in Nkwot group of villages to celebrate with his people in a unique and special way, while promising them more dividends of his representation in 2025.

Mbakara while addressing a cross section of Nkwot people, urged them to embrace love and brotherhood as a tool for community development said having been blessed by God he could not in times like this fail to come and create in his people a sense of existence and belonging, pleading with them to receive his offer with love.

Responding, Village head of Nkwot Obio Duop, Etteidung. Bassey Vincent thanked their son Rt. Hon. Nana, for coming to see them, assured him of their continued support in the coming year. Chief Vincent expressed confidence in his superlative representation so far, stressed that Nana wouldn’t have come out victorious without his commitment and discipline. Etteidung Vincent called on ‘Nkwot Obio duop’ and Ikono to support him so that he could do more for the people.

He said Nana coming to identify with his people during Christmas was an act propelled by the love he has for his people and community.
