The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is set to present the WAEC/Vatebra Merit Award for Best Overall Male Candidate in Public Secondary Schools in WASSCE for candidates 2023 to Master Edidiong Favour Essien, an Akwa Ibom son from Itu Mbonuso in Ini Local Government Area.
According to a letter sent to Master Essien from WAEC, signed by the Acting Head, Public Affairs, Moyosola F. Adesina, on behalf of the Head of National Office, Master Essien has been invited for the special honour by WAEC which shall take place on 21st November, 2024 at the National Teachers Institute (NTI), Kaduna, Kaduna State.
WAEC say Master Essien is selected for the honour “in recognition of his performance. The Council will present the award to you at the opening ceremony of the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Nigeria National Committee (NNC) on Thursday, November 21, 2024. at the National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna.”
Master Edidiong Essien attended the Command Science Secondary School, Efa, Etinan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State where he wrote the 2023 WASSCE and emerged as the Best Overall Male Candidate in Public Secondary Schools, which won him the intellectual award from the West African examining body.
His letter of invitation for the award is dated, October 29, 2024. The letter has asked him to come with parents and well-wishers.
